@crwinfrey: Regarding the text "Both parties need F-Droid to use nearby.", if one user doesn't have F-Droid, it is possible to send F-Droid to the other user via the nearby feature. If somebody tries to connect by scanning a QR code, they will go to a webpage. The first thing on the webpage is "Download F-Droid" which will download F-Droid from the users device. This will only work on Bluetooth though. Not sure if we need to bother trying to make this clear or not, especially because in the future the nature of the nearby feature will change.

Sorry to steal back to me, but I had this half implemented anyway. MR will be coming soon.

I think it's important for people to know they both need F-Droid especially for the primary flow we have set up where you choose a friend from a list.
