This causes a number of issues, so I propose that we maintain all those sources in our own gitlab repo. That should also help with disappearing tarballs, network issues during the build, etc.
I'll create the repo if someone working on VLC wants to actually use this approach.

It does not explain what these mysterious problems are, who and how decided they are present or what could be done to fix them. If something has really been found, I would expect normal issue report by human rather than unexplained anonymous update by machine. The robot is spreading FUD and disrespect, making harm to our project. I think it is just buggy, but if really there is some metadata where these "antifeatures" are listed, then the metadata is wrong. The two apps I own (org.us.andriod and akk.astro.droid.moonphase) do not even need the Internet permission, no SD card access, no any other access, no any user data at all, no login of any kind - pure on screen visualizations. I really need to understand in such cases where are these "security vulnearabilities" coming from. This may be be just a buggy behavior, but it is also possible to suspect the bad will.
Mind that there is not even possible to object on wiki pages as all edits are periodically overwritten by the bot.

While I did find this app in the list I seen in my phone, I do not find SMS Backup+ in the https://f-droid.org/packages/ list
Remark: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.zegoggles.smssync page still exists ...

I do find Slight Backup on f-droid.org/packages/ list but at earlier version 0.4.5 pointing to the https://f-droid.org/repo/de.shandschuh.slightbackup_16.apk in the repository.

Du...Studying the metadata.txt files ans the documentation documentation https://f-droid.org/docs/Build_Metadata_Reference
the following differences have come to my attentions.
I'm not sure if it is a bug or a personal misunderstanding.
Due to the lack of response to https://forum.f-droid.org/t/metadata-txt-some-application-are-not-published-sinced-years-e-g-mpdroid-book-catalogue/1025 I presume it is really a bug ;-)
## MPDroid
I have taken a look at https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/blob/master/metadata/com.namelessdev.mpdroid.txt
There is:
> Current Version:1.07.2 Final
Current Version Code:54
According to https://f-droid.org/docs/Build_Metadata_Reference/#Current-Version
_1.07.2 Final_ should be the freshest version.
So I tried to fetch: https://f-droid.org/repo/com.namelessdev.mpdroid_54.apk - but it isn't available :frowning:
I compare this now with: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.namelessdev.mpdroid/
Here I see that the Version1.0 with Version Code 20 is advertised (from **2012**)
## Book Catalogue
Another look I have taken was: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/blob/master/metadata/com.eleybourn.bookcatalogue.txt
Here I see:
>Current Version:5.1.1
Current Version Code:168
According to the _Build_ entries I understand that this version build is disabled.
So my next Idea was to read reverse the build entries till I found the first not-disabled entry.
This would be here the Version 5.0.7 (Version Code: 151).
As above for MPDroid I can't either download the Version Code 151 (or 168) :frowning:
So I check again https://f-droid.org/packages/com.eleybourn.bookcatalogue/
Here I see that the Version 3.8.1 (Version Code 70) from **2011** is the last available version.https://staging.gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/issues/845Dsub : No update since 2015, server could not build2017-09-17T05:06:04Zusername-removed-1545701Dsub : No update since 2015, server could not buildHello,

Some told me that the main problem here is that the app embeds strange repos and precompiled jars.
Following the README.md of the github page some google stuff needs to be remove or added separately ?
I don't know much in building apps. But i really would like to get this app available on fdroid !
