Make the Onboarding Issue Less Overwhelming
We need to make the Onboarding Issue less overwhelming, as that is a consistent point of feedback we receive. It was suggested that we add a "within your first month" section to the issue to spread it out, but the issue is intended to be completed within a new team member's first week. What can we do to make it easier to tackle?
- Create a second issue after their first week with additional resources/less urgent tasks?
- Create a separate "Onboarding Guide" with important links, "who's who", etc. for new team members to know all listed out in one place?
- Make the issue more interactive (I heard talk about a board game when I joined)?
- Break tasks out day by day?
- Lots of feedback that the coffee breaks are too much/stressful - Implement the donut.ai to a specific Slack channel that any current team members who are willing to have coffee breaks can join, and new team members can organize their 10 calls there, making it less onerous on them to figure out who to ask and to schedule the call?
