Regroup: Website Re-design
Let's get together and officially kick-off the about.gitlab.com re-design! Being new to the team I'd love to regroup and hear everyone's thoughts, ideas, and goals for the project.

Goals from @ChadMalchow
- Educational from a buyer persona - GitLab as a solution can do for developers. How to sell GitLab to Dev Ops, CTO.
- Product pages - specific pages about problem solving, why people would want to use it
- Every page we should very clearly call out all of our offerings and make assumptions, right path - gitlab.com versus enterprise EE.
- Call to action on every page. Drive somewhere else.
- Sales team doesn't have to educate, just expand upon the education from the website

- What used to be a big problem is that people didn't understand our 4 offerings
- Getting people to download the CE edition right off the homepage
- Pricing page add-ons - Pricing page complicated - how will we pull this off?
- Complex ordering page from Zuora
Goals from @JobV
- Feature marketing - we have so many new features, we want to have an overview of all the major parts (authentication, integration, CI) and then the ability to drill down (these auth methods and they are good because of this and this)
- Design - everyone is continuously updating the website so the design should be flexible enough to allow for that. If in the middle of the night, someone decides that they want to update text - design should be able to keep up with that
- New release - the ability to quickly update the website w/ the features and easy to iterate, easy to highligh
- complex website, so many products - always be clear that if you are deeplinked, make clear where you are
- keep it simple but maybe in markdown as much as possible
- found that when having fancy layouts with javascript + so much headache
- simple but beautiful
- think about mobile, tablets, etc.
- With each feature we are able to add media/video.

video can go, make twitter prettier, every page deeplinks to that page in repository
keep: twitter (static twitter?) on download page maybe?, customer logos, favorites from twitter API
Pages we don't need? Community page feels like an index, make it better w/ content, no hover over menus
Feature page is a bit strange. 3 pages in one.
CI is just a feature now but we can kill from top menu,
Compare page separate than features page.
Features page is about Gitlab - EE only can be called out
