Per @tauriedavis comment in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/www-gitlab-com/merge_requests/6936#note_36364024, there are steps in place for when new UX paradigms are introduced. In additional conversation, Taurie pointed out that perhaps these steps should be highlighted or moved up in some way.

The goal here is to make sure that when new UX patterns/paradigms are being considered, there is adequate discussion and follow up. The MR linked above added the additional step of getting UX Lead approval. From the conversation, it appears that the team does not necessarily feel this is needed. I'd like to get additional thought here and a final decision on what we feel the process should be. Keep in mind, we are a growing company and will be a growing team. Steps that may seem unnecessary or burdensome now could help us to avoid problems in the future.
