@zj It's just a proof of concept for discussion in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/29412 for now, but I put it in the top directory rather than in the autodeploy directory based on another issue that suggests to make autodeploy a regular template. In reality, after further writing up the issue, it seems like making it a regular template would be a non-goal.

I can't see what's wrong with the pipeline though, since the configuration does pass the linter.

I've just pushed an improved error message for you. The gist of it: the filename format is wrong and will thus not be used in GitLab.
