Nested groups - Grant users from Group A access to Group B projects

Hey,

I have the following problem: Currently I am adding Groups to my GitLab CE and while I was adding many people to the same group I was just asking myself: Why isn't there a functionality to add a group of people to another group?

Example:

• We have Group A which has 25 members
• Adding Group B
• Everyone from Group A should have access to Group B projects and additional some users who are not in Group A

You might ask - Why the heck does he want to have many groups with almost the same members? O_o Answer is simple:

• The URL namespace is Group-based (http://gitlab.whatever.com/GROUP_NAME/PROJECT_NAME)
• Other users can be added to the company-name-based Group they belong to
