New Merge Request Taking Too Long 502

Summary

On Gitlab.com, sometimes submitting a merge request times out, which does not occur on every other project's merge requests.

Steps to reproduce

From a private repo within our organization/group account, the issue occurs when submitting a merge request from the merge request page or when comparing branches and submitting for comparison with the master branch. I have tried invalidating the branch by rebasing, cherry-picking, and filter-branch, but the merge request does not get created for either instance. The resultant page recommends contacting the GitLab administrator.

Expected behavior

Issuing a merge request within gitlab.com should not timeout nor result in 502 HTTP page.
