Password form field not being shown

Hi, http://gitlab.com is asking me to edit my password, but /profile/password/edit is empty. No password form.

Can we get more information? Where is gitlab.com asking him to do that? Is he redirected from somewhere? Is he signed in, or not?

I want to push to my repo, but there's a warning that prohibit me to push to my repo, unless I set a password. I haven't set a password, I was registered with Google OAuth.

I'm not redirected, I clicked the link from the warning. But accessing gitlab.com/profile/password/edit directly is also not working.

PS: Actually, at first, I still can push to my repo. It was force-push that prohibited.

I can confirm the same issue in Chrome on Windows - just came here to create issue ;)

I have the issue on Chrome with an account I created with GitHub. Just posted an issue in the wrong project ^^^^ so I closed it

@DouweM should we put some milestone to this issue?

is there any timeline for this? or any workaround? in related with this issue: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/support-forum/issues/604 , i can't do anything with gitlab currently. i mean this is show stopper.

I found a workaround. I was able to set my password from 'forgot your password' in sign in page. After setting my password, password page under profile menu started working well.

Can anyone still reproduce this issue? I cant see it in production.

Suggestion: Force password setup after linked account creation. If the user logs out the only way to setup a password is in the sign in page "forgot your password".

Password fields appeared on /profile/password/editpage, succeeded to set password. Seems that the issue is fixed.

I confirm. I had the bug and in the exact same setup I was able to set my password today. The fields made it back ! Thanks whoever did this :)
