"Remember me" doesn't work for OAuth (Google, Twitter, etc) signin

It seems that since fairly recently user sessions expire rather sporadically. Sometimes I can stay logged in for around 24 hours, other times it expires after (what appears to be) only a few hours. Up until fairly recently this wasn't occurring and you would remain logged in effectively indefinitely.
