Why does clicking on a card in issue board scroll the board?

Clicking on an card in the issue board opens a sidebar on the right to show a summary of the card, but for some reason, the board also scrolls to the right. This seems unnecessary, and quite annoying.

It is ensuring that the column is within view. I think it would be okay with a transition animation so it wasn't so blunt.
