Backup and restore across versions
Often the backup/restore process occurs when moving to a new server. You install the latest GitLab version only to then find out that you can't restore backups made in the old version. That's very disappointing.
I realize that there are differences between the version that make it difficult to do, but could you at least provide a "basic backup" that is compatible across versions, allows us to migrate projects, users and groups and uses default settings of the target GitLab install for everything else?
