As an admin, cannot add oneself as a member to a group

GitLab Version: 8.2.0

Issue: When logged in as a site administrator, I cannot add myself to a group. This used to work. When clicking the "Add User To Group" button, I see the message "Users were successfully added". When refreshing the page, the user still doesn't show up in the membership list.
