Group issues with archived projects

Summary

When on a group issues view, i expect either :

• not to see issues from archived projects
• be able to toggle the display of archived projects' issues

Steps to reproduce

• create a group
• create 2 projects in that group, and add some issues on both projects
• archive a project
• go to gitlab/groups/{group-name}/issues and see your archived project issues are listed

Could somebody from upstream please give a view on this?

from my view, the first option "not to see issues from archived projects" should be good enough and probably even expected. The problem here, its definitely a behaviour change (visible in the past vs not visible in the future)

The second option would lead to the new checkbox/filter option in the view, I'm not sure if it makes sense to spend this space for this filter criteria. I guess it will be rarely used

@JobV is it a bug that issues from the archived projects are visible?

@rtripault the only possibility to see archived projects/issues if only through search UI we're gonna present soon, there was huge discussion if we need to show archived items in the active lists, and the outcome was no.

@creamzy correct. We just hide archived projects and everything related to it everywhere except visiting such project directly or some special place from #5875 (closed) .

@dzaporozhets I'm also hiding the merge requests from archived projects in order to have consistency in the Groups listings.
