SSH Auth Problems
So, I have been having problems authenticating my SSH clients. I have ssh files in ~/.ssh/key
and ~/.ssh/key.pub
on client, and I have ~/.ssh/config
, defining the files to be loaded (which are loaded properly, according to verbose output). I am certain that the client is making the connection to the server, I am sure that the server has the RSA keys in the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
file, and I know that redis is running.
Here is the part of the client's output when I try to ssh into the server in the git bash:
ssh -Tv git@git.myserver.net
debug1: Next authentication method: publickey
debug1: Offering RSA public key: C:/Users/User/.ssh/key.pub
debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 279
debug1: key_parse_private2: missing begin marker
debug1: key_parse_private_pem: PEM_read_PrivateKey failed.
debug1: read PEM private key done: type <unknown>
So, I figured that it was a problem with my private key. I generated them according to https://help.github.com/articles/generating-ssh-keys/, and as stated earlier, have a key
and key.pub
file, in ~/.ssh
. The private RSA key file starts like this:
-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----(RSA Encrypted garbage)
So, any pointers on what I am doing wrong? I had this working at one point, until I changed something that I don't remember, which messed it up somehow. Thanks in advance,
