Tries to restore cache even when no cache block present in the yaml

Hi,

I have a runner installed on a Mac OSX desktop running El Capitan 10.11.3. I have the following yaml file:

stages:
  - build
  - test
  - deploy

build_job:
  stage: build
  script:
    - npm install
    - bower install
    - tsd install
    - gulp test --ci -p ios
  tags:
    - mac

I used to have this in there as well but have since removed it:

cache:	 
  paths:
  - plugins/
  - platforms/
  - node_modules/

The reason for removing it, is that it developed some problems in trying to restore cache. It was working fine but at some point, it started to fail 100% of the time at the restore cache step. So I thought I could get it to forget all about its cache by taking the cache block out of the yaml, but even after removing this block, it is STILL trying to restore cache. Why does it do this? And how can I get it to stop?

Also, where does the cache live on the runner machine? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
