before update task gone ok

Expected behavior

i see "Error decoding json payload json: cannot unmarshal array into Go value of of type string#012" in gitlab-runner log and black screen in web

Same problem here, however not with all jobs. Some of our jobs run fine, while others produce this error.

I've found that downgrading my gitlab-runner to 1.11.1 seems to workaround the issue.

Duplicate of #2271. Can you post there content of .gitlab-ci.yml file containing failing jobs?

This issue is NOT fixed in GitLab EE 9.0.0, it can be done manually and works fine with runner 9.0.0

Yes, this is not fixed in 9.0.0. It will be fixed with 9.0.1 patch release (gitlab-ce!10185 was merged today).
