Issue board should not scroll when sidebar slides in

• Right now, when you click on an issue in an issue board, the sidebar slides in. Sometimes, the entire board scrolls to the right, as shown in the gif. It is not clear when this happens. But when it does happen, it is not a good experience.
• It should not happen.
• Or there should be an alternative, better UX.

Completely agree with this issue.

I think the original intention was to make sure the selected issue is not obstructed by the sidebar or cut off on the left edge of the screen. The actual implementation seems to be buggy, though.

The desired behavior is to scroll the board just enough so the list is fully visible (with padding between it and the sidebar/left edge)

Thanks @cperessini. Wouldn't it be a better experience for the board to remain static and not scroll at all? With the sidebar sliding in, there's already some motion on the screen. Having the board try to scroll automatically seems to be "too" smart, and wouldn't that cause a lot of visual noise? If the issue of interest is off the screen, the user can easily scroll themselves to adjust. Having it scroll automatically seems to take control away from the user.

The current implementation is flaky probably because also the same issue can appear multiple times on the board.
