@mydigitalself @hazelyang : Are we using "I am not interested" in this issue and the other related issues? Perhaps a simple "Dismiss" is better. Brief and to the point.

Psychologically, we don't want to affirm the user's (perceived) lack of interest right? Furthermore, if we just put "Dismiss", we are not guaranteeing we won't market to them in the future. Providing them an option to say, "I am not interested" seems too strong and we don't want to push them that far right?

Really don't have too much experience designing copy for these types of use cases. Just my general thoughts. cc @sarrahvesselov if you've designed through these pay/subscription-wall scenarios before.

I think we can just use an x to dismiss as we do for the others.

@mydigitalself @victorwu x is a good solution, but I am worried the interaction is not consistent with other boards.

For instance, the user currently clicks "Never mind, I'll use my own" button to close the Welcome to your issue board board. I think the Improve issue board board should be closed as same as the way Welcome to your issue board board is closed. So I would lean toward changing the word to Dismiss or other terms (if @sarrahvesselov has the suggestions).

@hazelyang : Thanks for the reminder. I'm okay with either x or Dismiss. I agree consistency would be nice. We can also think about just putting x in this design here, and also changing it for the existing middle panel you mentioned. Again I'm open to either idea.

@hazelyang @victorwu: The idea is that they dismiss the card and are never shown it again. I would place copy with more personality/context. There is a missed opportunity here to add GitLab personality to our wording. Got it! or Thanks! Don't show me this again has more impact IMHO.

@sarrahvesselov : I think those options are really great, and better than something negative like "Not interested", per my comment in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ee/issues/2899#note_36034497.
