Collapsed new navigation sidebar leads to re-layout after page load

I'm having the same problem but with the issue description covered by the sidebar until the page has finished loading. I keep trying to read text which is hidden!
Images like the gif in this MR also currently extend past the right hand edge of the window. Maybe this could be related to having the full-width preference set instead of fixed?
I think this affects all pages @jamedjo
@iamphill since you have been working on the new sidebar recently, do you have time to take a look?
