Invalid DNS record instruction for custom domain (GitLab Pages)

Summary

I just went through the steps of creating a custom domain for my GitLab pages and the command listed is incorrect. I ended up going through the tutorial on GitLab's blog which was very helpful. Unfortunately the corresponding doc was outdated and not as helpful

Steps to reproduce

1. Add a custom domain to your page
2. Fill out the form with a custom domain URL
3. Click on the details button next to the domain you just entered

Expected behavior

ClemMakesApps.com CNAME ClemMakesApps.gitlab.io

Actual behavior

ClemMakesApps.com CNAME ClemMakesApps.gitlab.io.

Possible fixes

Remove the trailing .

Actually the correct behaviour is to append the . to the domain. This is when you manage your own DNS server (e.g., BIND), but most providers let you fill in the domain name without the . (they do it themselves in the background).
