Disabling one-to-one's

I think you should consider removing the private chat feature, or at least allowing it to be disabled on a per-user basis. I want to add gitter to my repos to create a chat community around them, but not encourage people to be sending me private messages. In the spirit of Github, questions should be asked in the open; Github removed private messages for good reasons.
