Emoji selector button

So I have been using Gitter for quite some time now and the only thing that irritates me is not having the ability to quickly find the emoji I want to use. I have seen some discussions about this already but I've never seen it having a topic in itself. So here goes.

Everyone probably already knows that by pressing : you can see a very short list of emojis and requires people to remember the names to filter down further:

So I was wondering, why not have a button that opens a list of emojis and looks like this http://www.webpagefx.com/tools/emoji-cheat-sheet/. see image below (right-side with the rest of the buttons)

We can see this same functionality in many of the other clients out there like WhatsApp & Skype just to name a few.

Sounds like a duplicate of https://github.com/gitterHQ/gitter/issues/1381 but you may have a slightly different idea to tackle.

@MadLittleMods I have no clue why you marked this as a duplicate as it clearly is not. First of this is about adding a emoticon button. The other issue is by increasing the list when you type a part of the emoticon name like :sm from the :smile: emoticon which still means you need to know the name. The thing I posted is a emoticon button you click it and then just see all emoticons with for instance a search function. So kindly reopen this one as it is different.

@hennysmafter https://github.com/gitterHQ/gitter/issues/1381 aims to address the same plight of having to figure out an emoji name.

Re-reading, I understand you want that same sort of view that #1381 mentions but instead pops from pressing a emoji icon button to the right of chat input with a search box on that. Improving the chat input editor and adding some visual elements that would format the text has been mentioned several times internally and is an aspect we want to address.
