Insert username without trailing space

I would like an optional setting I could turn on that would make it so that clicking on a username in the chat to insert an @Mention in the text I'm writing doesn't insert a trailing space as well.

Since I often insert @mentions inline, with punctuation immediately after them, I find it distracting/disruptive to have to either backspace or arrow over and delete the unwanted space before continuing to type.

I realize that some (possibly many) people probably like the white space being added, so offering this as an optional setting would cater to those (possibly few, but maybe many) of us who would prefer it not to be there and would rather have full control over whether and where white space is inserted.
