Make email notifications optional per room

Email notifications are awesome but sometimes you don't want them for some of the rooms or only want them if you are mentioned. This will reduce spam and noise.

You mean effectively separate email notification from desktop notification logic? Obviously today you can turn off notifications per room, but that applies to both the desktop notification and email.

i pretty much hate email notifications : i'm happy with mobile and desktop notifications alone

@mccraigmccraig then just click on unsubscribe at the bottom of the notification email and you'll never see them again.

+1 on separating them out -- after I clicked on the unsubscribe, I then realized that it may have meant for all gitter.im, and what I wanted was only to cancel for 1 channel. and further, i don't see where I can re-enable email notifications if I wanted to... even the '/settings/' URL invoked by the email click back doesn't work on its own.

I'm in the same boat on this. I want to re-enable the notifications, but can't see any way to do it.

In the same vein, could you separate browser notifications out as well?

I want to track conversations, but don't want an in-browser notification for every message that comes up. (not sure about when I'm directly mentioned)
