Left menu sometimes disconnects

Sometimes I find that the left menu doesn't show unread messages when there certainly are unread messages. Refreshing cures the situation. I have a feeling it's getting disconnected and not reconnecting properly.

Unfortunately I don't have any logs as I've largely been using the desktop client.
