Hi, any news on this Issue?
I'm actually wondering how you'd like to see subtree support implemented in GitLab. Do you want to show subtree details in a GitLab repository or rather adding the possibility to add a project as a subtree of an existing project? Or, maybe, adding some magic that pushes commit done in a "subtree" directly on the original project's repo?

Show that the directory is a subtree and show info of which repo and branch it is
Show info on if its behind or ahead of the subtree
A link to that tree, so you can click it and head over to that subtree's repo
Add a subtree with specific branch
Remove a subtree
Magic for pulling and pushing isn't important and would probably lead to a mess with conflicts etc.
But of course this could also be possible with a online editor, but I think its too much.

Hi Zakay! (Do you recognize me if I say Santarelli!?)
I'll try to spend some time on these features, since we're going to use intensively subtrees here as well.
I'll keep you updated if I manage to put something together.
