Option+Click+Drag Enhancement Request

What steps will reproduce the requested feature?
- Open Terminal.app
- Hit return a few times to generate some lines of text.
- Hold down the "Option" key, and click+drag the mouse to highlight a text block for copy.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Within iTerm2, Option+Click+Drag produces the same effect as a Click+Drag, in that it selects text by line.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iTerm2, latest Alpha version, running under Snow Leopard 10.6.4.
Please provide any additional information below.
This is a feature request that would be useful to have when needing to highlight and copy a "block" of text, as opposed to a row. This is essential when pulling text columns from a terminal session and placing them into a spreadsheet.
