System-wide hotkey does not work correctly with Spaces

I have setup a system-wide shortcut but it seems it does not work correctly if the iTerm is minimized and on another desktop Space. The expected behavior is that the screen should be transitioned to the appropriate Space that iTerm resides into.

This is working as intended, I believe. The hotkey window by default follows you to your current space. You can change its setting in Prefs > Profiles, select the Hotkey Window profile, go to the Window tab, and modify the Spaces dropdown.
