Top-of-screen (quake) style profile window resizes itself on occassion

I'm using iTerm2 Build 2.1.1 on OSX Yosemite [10.10.4 (14E17e)] - issue persists from Maverics (at least i've been using iTerm2 since then). Here is my plist file com.googlecode.iterm2.plist. I'm on MacBook Pro with external display in arrangement right above the main display (and above iTerm2, when active), having quake style default profile (toggle) on global hotkey.

For months now, and I haven't figured out why, it sometimes resizes the window, so it's width is greater than my laptop's monitor. All the left side text is invisible, since it's leaked to the left of the display. Only solution I've come by so far is to close all tabs in that profile, and then start the profile again with global hotkey.

I'm in desperate need for a fix or a workaround. Having many tabs WIP opened when this happens is frustrating.

Does the resize happen when a monitor is attached/detached or when the system wakes from sleep? Or does the resize just happen in the middle of using the machine normally?

Please try the nightly build (https://iterm2.com/nightly/latest). It may be fixed there.

Detachment doesn’t make problems. Attachment very rarely. Unlocking/waking often causes this. And it happens in the middle of using it normally (on toggle show/hide).

P.S. I'll give nightly a try.

I just detached and reattached monitor. Window showed up on the bottom of monitor screen (arrangement is: monitor is above laptop display). I used nightly build. debuglog.txt

Note that this is not the original issue reported here. It is similar in sense it is related to displays arrangement, and it's on different version of originally posted issue was spotted on.

After upgrading to nightly build, the originally mentioned issue disappeared, but new one (mentioned in two previous comments) started happening. It seems like the trigger is the same (based on blackbox observations of occurring issue frequency), only symptoms are different.

I use the same monitor-above-macbook layout. For me the issue happens only if all iTerm windows are hidden and I connect external monitor. And then if I open top-sticked terminal window, it is as wide as my external display.

In contrast, if I have terminal opened while I connect display, everything is OK.

Please try tomorrow's nightly build. I wasn't able to reproduce it but I found some broken logic involving hidden hotkey windows when a screen is plugged in or unplugged. Commit 55845107.

Hi, I'm just back from my vacation, hence the delay in response. It seems alright now, after testing for three days that version with a fix, and a current one. Thank you for your effort.
