multiple beeps when trigger text scrolls

I am using a few trigger texts in a chat application which I run in iterm2.

When one or more of the trigger texts are on the current screen and when the whole screen scrolls up I get multiple beeps, because apparently iTerm2 beeps on every occurrence of each trigger string.

Would it be possible to have iTerm2 (optionally!) consolidate all such rings into a single one per screen-update?

This is with 2.1.1

I'm guessing your chat program redraws the whole screen when it scrolls. If you can try the nightly build and make a debug log with it that would help me know if this is a fixable problem.
