Cmd-tab and cmd/option remapping no longer working in 2.9 series

I've been happily using iTerm2 for a long time, and I do the following with my keyboard remapping:

• swap option and command via "Keys" -> "Remap modifier keys"
• add custom keymappings for cmd-tab and cmd-shift-tab to "Do not remap modifier keys". In particular, the latter setting has always let me continue using cmd-tab as normal on my mac, which is the behavior I want.

Since trying iTerm2 2.9, this no longer seems to work. I couldn't seem to find any remapping setup that would let cmd-tab work as normal, so I've switched back to 2.1.4.
