Feature Request: Command click file path to open in $EDITOR

Currently the file is opened in OS X's default application for the file type.

It would be great to have a shell integration allowing for the file to be opened in the program specified by $EDITOR.

I would like to confirm the importance of this issue. There are log of .log, .conf, .run, .etc, various extension files, which I would only want to edit in my text editor, instead of receiving an error dialog of:

There is no application set to open the document .... Choose an application on your computer to open this file.

Moreover, even on common files, like html, I'd like to have them always open in my editor, instead of in the browser, etc.

It seems there are a lot of related issues on this tracker, most of which could simply be solved with an "Always open in editor: [select editor]" option.
