Upgrade to latest version of Sparkle [was: Can't update iTerm]
Required information for bugs. I probably can't help you unless you include this:
- iTerm2 version: Build 2.9.20160206
- OS version: 10.11.3 (15D21)
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- Attach a debug log: doesn't seem to save a debug log
Steps:
- open iterm
- check for updates
- install update
- install and relaunch
gives alert:
Couldn't move /Users/me/Applications/iTerm.app to /Users/me/.Trash/iTerm.app
The application is not updated as I can repeat these steps and there is always an update to apply.

Weird. What if you manually delete
/Users/me/Applications/iTerm.app
and reinstall? Do you have the same problem if it's installed in a different directory? - Author
If I remove the app and reinstall 2.9.20160206 (so 1 version back) I get the same issue. This also happened when using the Desktop as the install directory.
I can however just download the latest (beta) version and swap that in which works fine - because there are no updates I guess.

I wonder if the issue is an old version of Sparkle. Can you try this build and let me know what happens? At the very least you should get a more informative error message.

That does seem to work, I ran this from the desktop, then installed the update. It's now at version: Build 2.9.20160313.
