Significant performance degradation while working with text with a lot of minus(-) symbols

I noticed significant performance degradation while working with text with a lot of minus(-) symbols. This text, for example, make my terminal freeze for a sec each time I cat it or work with it in any way:

I tested it in both 2.x release(Build 2.1.4) and latest 3.x beta(Build 2.9.20160313)

Correction - it's not a minus symbol, it's ASCII 9548 "╌"

Milestone changed to Feature Complete 3.1

I expect the fix for #3568 (closed) will also fix this.

Should be fast now.
