Function (fn) Key Not Working on OSX 10.11.5 on MBP 13" Retina

Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Open iterm
2. Click (starts dictation elsewhere)
3. Nothing happened

What happened: Nothing happened.

What should have happened: Dictation starts

Side note: this same sequence of keys works in the preferences pane

I'm not quite sure why but you need to go to System prefs > Accessibility > Dictation > Dictation Commands… and turn on Enable advanced commands.

Thanks, @gnachman! That worked. Perhaps it's there so that sysadmins don't say rm -fr / enter by mistake?
