[Feature request] Make background image content mode configurable

Hello :)

I'm wondering how background images work in iTerm - say I have a 50x80 window, and I split vertically in two (top and bottom), it seems that the background is cropped from the top (leaving the bottom part).

I wonder if it makes more sense to center the background image instead?

Also it's not very obvious to me how background resizing/tiling work. If I use a 200x200 image as the background, what will happen? I'm not sure when iTerms decide to shrink/expand the image, to crop it or to distort it otherwise.

Tiled images are aligned to the bottom left of the session. Each session gets its own image. I have a longstanding request to make images per-window which I've been meaning to get to.

When not tiling, it stretches to fit, even if it distorts. The exception is if the original image is larger than the session, in which case it crops the top or right.

Thanks for the response! Do you think center-aligning (instead of bottom-left aligning) makes more sense?

I'm not sure. I think the current default is pretty bad and it should be configurable. I'll change this issue to a feature request to improve this.
