Large inline gifs being truncated

Consider the following gif:

When I imgcat it to the terminal, it only seems to show a couple of frames:

Truncated_iTerm2_GIF

If I drag the gif out the resulting file seems to be the same full GIF as the original.

This is possibly related to https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/issues/5239.

Only the first 20 megs of decompressed image is used. Part of the reason is that images are decoded out of process for security and it's slow to shove 20 megs across a file descriptor. I'll look into making that limit configurable.

Can the images be compressed? Maybe I should just be doing it myself, since this is for catimg.

I'll have to think about whether there are any security issues with decompressing and recompressing an image. It sounds like it should be OK; just a performance hit from double-decompressing.

I ran into a similar problem, I wrote a cool Go library to print images but I'm having issues with large GIFs.
