Cannot download raw file from public repository

I think it's more a feature request than a bug, but would be very useful if you can access and download an specific raw file by its HTTP URL without credentials in a public repository, rather than have to clone the entire repo, just to get that source code.

Would be great. We store Linux installer kickstart in git repo; raw HTTP access would make it possible to fetch kickstart from repo during operating system installation (for example "linux ks=http://gitlab.mycompany.com/public/kickstart/blob/master/ks.cfg")

actually I made some hack to enable it. First, you need to user curl to login the GitLab, later fetch the public repository raw, even you are not member of that project.
BTW, I am using LDAP authentication, so all company users can access public raw files with their domain username and password.
