5.0.1 does not honor git bin_path in gitlab.yml

In 5.0.0 I was able to modify the git bin_path in gitlab.yml. Everything was working great. I upgraded to 5.0.1 and now my git bin_path is not honored. It's broken merge requests and anything else that makes use of that configuration parameter.
