Hi,
I followed the instructions at https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/blob/stable/doc/installation.md exactly (mostly copy/pasted the commands) and in the Step 4, for "Check application status" , I get the output:
root:/home/gitlab/gitlab# sudo -u gitlab bundle exec rake gitlab:app:status RAILS_ENV=production

I noticed that in the instructions right above that step, it is mentioned that the post-receive file should be copied to /home/git/.gitolite/hooks/common/
, however, in the OUTPUT EXAMPLE from the instructions the path is /home/git/share/gitolite/hooks/common/post-receive
-- is that the issue ?
I'd really like to try gitlab out, so any assistance would be appreciated.
cheers, ~steve
