500 error on *some* projects page after upgrading 5.0 -> 5.1 -> 5.2

No error in logs at all, only visible issue is that check script thinks that a) init script isn't up to date b) sidekiq isn't running.

I'm using
$ ruby -v
ruby 1.9.3p327 (2012-11-10 revision 37606) [x86_64-linux]
on CentOS 6.2. I know this distribution is not supported, but it worked fine until this upgrade.
What other information can I provide to find the issue?
