Notifications via background refresh

This is a feature request. It'd be very useful to have notifications about certain events. Obviously Gitlab doesn't support the "push" notifications that Apple likes, but perhaps polling the main feed periodically can achieve the same thing.

I really like this idea, I don't think it's too technically difficult to do, and it will be useful to keep the app up-to-date in the background.
