Random freezes

Trident 1.3 suffers from frequent deadlocks when fetching new data. This fix requires a rethink of how caching is handled in the app.

I believe this is nearly complete (I've not seen a deadlock yet in the 1.4 beta) with the new cache logic. Keeping this issue open if people find their app is freezing comment here!
