Bring back "versions numbers at a glance" for "apps to apdate" (vanished after v0.104)
- Device OS and version: Android 5.1
- Device model/manufacturer: Fairphon 2
- F-Droid version (in the About screen): 0.104
- F-Droid privileged extension version (if installed): -
What did you do? (clear steps if possible)
Just using F-Droid after updating to 0.104
What did you expect to see?
I was used to see the Version-numbers of Apps to update very easily and comfortable at a glance in "old-style" F-droid client (<<0.104). It was easy: after updating repos I could see very fast "installed version number --> updatede version number" for both:
- inside the android notifications bar
- inside the overview of the Apps with available "Updates" (german "Aktualisier")
What did you see instead?
in the overview and notification is now just visible at a glance: Symbol and name of the app, for which an update is available, but no version numbers (old->new) is visible. Instead I have to click in 0.104 in each app details insdide the update overview:
- click to choose app
- scroll down until "Versions"
- click "Versions"
- check out the "last release version"
- have a close-up look to figure out, which version I have installed (which is not colored marked or highlighted)
- compare the numbers and decide, if it is worth to update...
Suggestions:
I would suggest, to bring back the feature that version-numbers of currently installed and last released are visible in both, inside Android notifications AND inside the "Update" - overview tab of F-Droid >0.104.
I know its "complaining" at a high level - but I liked it in old-style F-Droid very much and can't understand, why this user-friendly feature was optimized to the worse....
Any comments?
