F-droid no longer connects through reverse tether in version 0.102

What did you do? (clear steps if possible)

running reverse-tether script on linux host machine (https://raw.github.com/CyanogenMod/android_development/cm-10.1/scripts/reverse_tether.sh), f-droid 0.101 would connect to internet correctly, then I updated to 0.102 (via reverse tether) and now cannot connect.

Outcome:

"Cannot update, are you connected to the internet?" pops up when trying to update repos.
