Improve the strategy and presentation of ROI calculators on our site
Goal
Make it easy for a prospective customer or existing GitLab user to learn about the potential amount they could save by switching to GitLab or upgrading to EEP.
Current Situation
Currently, we have a few different ROI calculators on our site or in an Excel doc.
- CE to EE ROI webpage
- Generic SDLC cost savings calculator
- User-specific SDLC cost savings calculator
- Integrated DevOps calculator
Action plan to improve our ROI calculator strategy and presentation
-
Update CE to EE ROI calculator to group features by product capability and to wrap text (i.e. all issue tracking features in one section that you can toggle on or off) https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/www-gitlab-com/issues/1577 completed by this MR https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/www-gitlab-com/merge_requests/6996 -
Launch generic ROI calculator webpage (which leads with the generic cost savings calculator) and move the CE to EE ROI calculator file to a URL like /roi/ce-to-ee
-
Improve the numbers on the CE to EE ROI calculator to make the calculations feel more realistic and consider adding a logic document to help users understand the numbers https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/www-gitlab-com/issues/1589 -
Create webpage for integrated DevOps ROI calculator (with the ability to toggle certain sections on or off] -
Add two potential paths from this page (1 for CE users (CE to EE calculator) and another for prospective customers new to GitLab (integrated DevOps calculator)) -
All ROI webpages should have the option to PDF the content
- For the integrated DevOps ROI calculator we could also include more of an explanation of the calculations like the Excel doc has.
