  • @sarrahvesselov Just a few minor remarks.

  • @sarrahvesselov I just discovered it's quite easy to practice:

    • Open the Zoom app and click 'Start with video'
    • Click 'Record'
    • Repeat the steps above
    • Stop and watch the recording. You'll see what the participants would see.

Maybe not bad to include those steps in the document to, so people would feel more comfortable before they go live.

When we've got the instructions finalized, let's ask @smcgivern to do a trial run to verify it's clear for those who haven't done this already.

  • @to1ne @sarrahvesselov thanks! My problem is slightly different: I just don't want to show the browser chrome, I want to share a single full-screen app. (My functional group updates are not in Google presentations, they are in Remark.)

  • @smcgivern well, the problem is more or less the same. We didn't figure out how to use an app in full-screen, while still being able to see speaker notes/chat/etc. I think this is an macOS limitation.

  • Oh, that's a shame :disappointed: Thanks for the effort anyway!

  • That should be possible with two monitors @smcgivern. I just don't have one to hook up and test it on :disappointed:

  • Yeah, me neither

    • Open the Zoom app and click 'Start with video'
    • Click 'Record'

@to1ne This only applies if you are in control of the meeting, For functional updates, the zoom account belongs to someone else and is set to record automatically. I don't want to confuse anyone, so my focus here is on getting the shared screen set up properly.

  • @to1ne I re-worked the steps and added a missing step. Can you take another look when you have a moment?

@sarrahvesselov OK, my explanation wasn't clear. I meant, you can start a Zoom call on your own Private Meeting room. Everyone can do this. People can use it just to test the features of Zoom, in a meeting room, where no one else is.

Gotcha. I think that is a great idea, adding to the instructions.

  • Thanks for all the feedback @to1ne. I think this should be good to go :fingers_crossed:

  • @smcgivern I did not try this, but you might consider using a chromeless browser. A few I ran into:

But in @sarrahvesselov's case this might be tricky, because for Google Slides you need to be logged in.

  • Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately, Helium isn't even visible in Zoom, and I'm too lazy to try any others right now

  • Think this is good to go @to1ne? At least it is a basic set of instructions to get newcomers started with the basics.

  • @sarrahvesselov Yes, for me it's good to go!!! Always possible to make further alterations later.

It is still WIP, so I wasn't sure you were happy with it.

  • It is still WIP, so I wasn't sure you were happy with it.

That's because it is the first time I have used WIP and wasn't sure what the protocol was

Thanks for all the feedback @to1ne!
