Disable expansion of words into commit ids?

We recently added a commit with id facade8ba862.... Now, whenever we use the word "facade", it gets expanded into "facade8b" and is hyperlinked to the commit. Obviously we still want to use the feature of linking commits by id but maybe it can be configured to only react to 7- or 8-character strings?
