Home page url functionnality no longer working

Setting up a "Home page url" from the Admin area (/admin/application_settings) no longer redirects non-logged in users to that URL as it is supposed to.

Tested on 7.12.1~omnibus-1 (but might be broken for earlier versions as well) with "Signup" disabled.

Sorry Daniel, but this is not the same issue (although that fix may be the reason why this feature does not work any longer... I don't know).

I'm talking about the feature which is present in the admin page area which allows administrators to choose the default Home Page of their Gitlab for non-logged in users.

You can reproduce this issue by changing your home page to http://yourgitlab.com/explore/projects and you will notice that non-logged in users are not redirected to this page when they reach http://yourgitlab.com. Something somehow broke this feature, it was working in the previous releases.

Now tested in 7.12.1~omnibus-1.1 as well (and still broken).

As far as I can tell, Daniel's patch should fix exactly this problem. If you wish to try it out, feel free to patch your source directly.

But it is still not functional. Have you tried it?

I am already using this fix in production and can no longer reproduce this issue.

The issue has been fixed for the upcoming 7.13 release so the issue is still present with current Omnibus packages.
